First day of the boat check went perfect and fast of the 55 boats which get bigger and nicer every year and bigger televisions in it as well 😊 Only one team forgot their measuring board…I know the guys…no not going to say more they will know what whaha. This year we needed a bigger place with all teams, last 2 years we could do only the Sign-In (outside) but very happy that we went back to normal. Thank you so much Kilalloe Hotel & Spa.
Predator Battle Ireland 2022 almost ready to kick off on Lough Derg, Killaloe/Ballina, Ireland. Lough Derg part of the river Shannon system (350km) will be the centre for the Battle the coming days/week. 18 September Sign-In, 19, 20 and 21 September competition days, 22 September prize giving.
The last 2 years we had some problems with all the covid rules in the world but that looks far behind us know, of course we use a few old covid rules for the older fishermen like me 😊
The first Prize of 2022 again from Alumacraft Europe the Escape 165 tiller with a powerful Suzuki 50 hp. The boat trailer is tailor made for Alumacraft by Kalf trailers. 2021 we had a blue boat but for 2022 an black one which looks more popular!
Finally ready with all sponsor deals and agreements, loads of stress this year I can tell you!

Not an easy year after 2 years covid and now that bloody war in Ukraine ☹Prices/costs are mad on the moment! Some sponsors cancelled, some ….. just gone, some needed help, some needed more money, some didn’t survive, some changed value, some new ones 😊 And of course the ones who are always here with us, thank you so much!
Lough Derg is ready for it, hope all participants as well because they have 3 days to catch 4 pike, 3 perch and 1 trout, total length makes the winner. We have an Catch Photo Video and Release system what means that you have to make a photo and video of your fish as proof. And to get high in the ranking you have to pass the 500cm for sure! 😊
When you have to fight as a Viking like in the Predator Battle Ireland you need a sword!! (No excuses)
And when you really fight hard for it you will win this amazing boat from Alumacraft or one of the other great prizes.

Open to enter for 2022Next year we have an anniversary 2012 – 2022 so don’t miss it we like to celebrate this with you! The real growth came after 2016! We changed the name for edition 2017 to give it its own identity to “Predator Battle Ireland”. Of course it could have failed but it didn’t, an increase of teams and sponsors was the proof. Of course we will have that great first prize The Alumacraft Escape 165 tiller with a 50hp Suzuki on it and a great boat needs a great boat trailer so that will be a Kalftrailer Alumacraft Special tailor made for this boat.

Never easy to say goodbye to a boat combination like this, Alumacraft Escape 165 tiller with a Suzuki 50hp on it a new brand boat trailer from “Kalf Trailers” the Alumacraft special R750-57, but this team fought hard for it!
Before the guys arrived we had the boat ready for them and the weather helped big time for the photos! So we could explain some things before using it, told them to take time to investigated all buttons and possibilities.
First something about the new brand trailer from Kalf trailers. Alumacraft Europe wanted a boat trailer tailor made for their boats and that worked out very nice! To be honest… I am very surprised by those Kalf trailers they really know what they are doing (making), eye for details for sure!
Definitely not someone who saws tube profiles in a garage and then welds them together! I had a welding and construction company myself for many years so I know where I’m talking about. I see laser cut mounting plates, I don’t see any sharp corners that can tear, etc. I see an eye for details….. have a look yourself 😊
The Alumacraft Escape 165 with the Suzuki 50hp…wow what can I say for that price!! 😊 The winners of last year kept the boat as well and fished the 2020 competition with it so I kept an eye open for that boat. What can I say…I want one myself haha, no really no bullshit sponsor kiss ass story or whatsoever, the performance of that boat on a big lake like Lough Derg….bring it on!
Competitions…what can I say? Just to keep it short…. I am very happy again that the winners of 2020 keep the boat 😊 So each year we see more and more Alumacraft boats on the Irish waters!
